Ford Escape 2013
According to The Detroit News, Escape models 7600-6150 of them in the United States – is equipped with a 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder EcoBoost pulled because damaged cup plug in the cylinder head engine.
Ford has not received any reports of fires from customers, although the Escape was reported on fire at a dealer in Tennessee.
In this event dislodges cup, rapid cooling can leak and create what The Detroit News calls “the glycol concentration of fire” that can burn near hot engine components. According to Ford, this recall only affects vehicles with manually installed cup plugs and only about 0.4 percent of the withdrawn Escapes will have the damaged parts. The vehicles were built between October 5, 2011 and August 31, 2012.
Back in July, given the 2013 Ford Escape fault engine compartment fuel lines in vehicles equipped with the 1.6 liter engine, and asked the owners to stop driving the vehicle immediately.
